Job DescriptionAgency: Department of the Attorney-GeneralWork Unit: Business Support Unit, Alice SpringsJob Title: Finance Support OfficerDesignation: Administrative Officer 3Job Type: Full timeDuration: Fixed for 12 monthsSalary: $66,773 - $71,746Location: Alice SpringsPosition Number: 50857RTF: 310883Closing Date: 08/12/2024Contact Officer: Taylah Staniforth on or the Agency: Application Process: Apply online at Home/JobDetails?rtfId=310883Primary Objective: This position is responsible for provision of quality business support to internal and external clients including managing prisoner private monies, provision of reliable and customer-focused visit enquiries service, and associated financial management duties for the Alice Springs Correctional Centre.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess prisoner private monies transactions including receipting monies in Pronto, processing payments, prisoner mail charges, fines, and transactions in IOMS and undertaking data entry in the accounting systems inclusive of the Prisoner Telephone System (PTS).Respond as the first point of contact to incoming phone enquiries relating to general internal/external stakeholders, other third parties, approved social and professional visitors through the monitoring of the ASCC switchboard and ASCC visits phone lines.Process and payment of authorised invoices in a timely manner through the NTG Pay System or the Expense 8 (credit card system) ensuring compliance with relevant legislative and agency policies and procedures.Process incoming and outgoing mail to the Centre in conjunction with custodial staff.Handle a range of enquiries, face to face, telephone or electronic from internal and external stakeholders in respect of visit bookings, supplier invoices, purchases, prisoner monies to provide clear, timely, practical information and guidance in accordance with relevant NT Government Legislation and Departmental Policies whilst maintaining appropriate confidentiality.Contribute to the business support unit and promote a high level of customer-focused service and other duties as required.Selection CriteriaEssentialExperience in accounts payable and accounts receivable functions including knowledge and understanding or the ability to quickly obtain/learn.Experience in providing professional and efficient customer service, quality administrative support, and database entry or the ability to quickly obtain/learn.Interpersonal skills of a high order, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff, various groups, and stakeholders both within the organisation and externally.Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member and exercise initiative.Capacity to work effectively in a busy work environment across a broad range of tasks with well-developed organisational and prioritisation skills to meet demanding deadlines.Ability to manage sensitive information and maintain data accuracy and attention to detail.A high level of computing skills with proficiency in a range of relevant computer applications, including mainframe databases and MS Office applications or the ability to quickly obtain/learn.DesirableDemonstrated knowledge and/or experience with Across Government Systems and Pronto system or similar.Current Drivers Licence.Further Information: NT Correctional Services has a Smoke Free Policy.
