Our team members are the key to our success and bring new and innovative responses to issues and challenges we face in our work in the delivery of quality services to support the work of the Parliament.Finance and Risk Business PartnerDepartment of Parliamentary ServicesOngoing, full-time opportunityPoV Grade 4, $92,332 - $104,762About the roleOur Finance, Risk & Payroll team is seeking a motivated, collaborative, and highly service-oriented Finance and Risk Business Partner to provide accurate and authoritative financial advice to stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the allocation, monitoring, and reporting of budgets across the organisation. You will work collaboratively with various teams to provide high-level support, guidance, and training on financial matters, including to Members of Parliament on budgeting matters.Key responsibilities:Provide a high level of customer service when advising stakeholders on budget or reporting related enquiries in compliance with relevant legislative requirements.Meet Members of Parliament budget reporting requirements of the Victorian Independent Remuneration Tribunal and Improving Parliamentary Standards Act 2019. Conduct monthly and quarterly (or as required) labour analysis for electorate offices to enable accurate cost allocation.Coordinate risk management reporting by liaising with relevant stakeholders on Parliament's strategic and operational risks. Assist with annual review of Parliament's insurance requirements and coordinate insurance related matters.Undertake investigations into budget-related issues and prepare associated financial reports, recommendations, and correspondence.Assist with budget development, forecasting, and financial planning processes as required.Provide budget-related training to stakeholders and prepare associated training material as required.Contribute to continuous improvement and change initiatives as a member of a team.About youTo succeed in this role, you will bring:Demonstrated experience in delivering budget planning, development, monitoring, and reporting services within a complex and fast-paced environment.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, accounting standards, and business requirements.Strong planning, organisational and time management skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to provide authoritative advice to stakeholders.Demonstrated business writing experience, including the preparation of reports, briefing notes, and presentations.How to applyUsing the "Apply Now" button, please include your resume and a brief cover letter (1-2 pages) broadly outlining your experience and how it directly relates to the position.The process from hereShortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview conducted by a selection panel.
