Part of the growing Global Financial Reporting (GFR) Team and work closely with the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team in head office (South Bank, Brisbane).
The GFR team are responsible for: Consolidation and board level analysis of FLT's monthly global results, including business partnering to review financial results Annual and half year statutory reporting Ad-hoc reporting and other project work Setting and monitoring of FLT accounting policies Providing technical accounting support to the FLT group globally Review and assessment of IFRS The FP&A team are responsible for: The quarterly forecasting process across the Group, preparing analysis and reports for the Global CFO and Board. Maintaining the forecast system and future customisations Focussing on creating a transparent view of the current and future liquidity position of the FCTG and individual businesses and countries This is a unique role to work within the GFR team while spending 20% of your time working with our FP&A team who are closely linked with GFR You will play an integral role with the following core responsibilities: Half-Year & Year-End Statutory Reporting
Collation and preparation of schedules required by external auditors and responding to queries Assist in the preparation of FLT Annual Report and half year financial statements Assist in the preparation of Audit Committee reports and analysis Assist with local statutory financial statements as required FP&A
Support the quarterly budget/forecast process across the Group, ensuring data integrity through performing various reconciliations Assist with maintaining the forecast system, liaising with Super Users across the Group to facilitate training and updates Support the Financial Planning & Analysis – Team Lead and Financial Planning & Analysis Senior to work with the local CFO's and finance teams to review forecasts and validate assumptions Support in the preparation of trend and comparative analysis to drive business decisions Projects & Technical Advice
Analyse new and amended Accounting standards, impact on FLT and liaise with external auditors Develop and update global FLT accounting policies Prepare technical accounting papers on key issues/ transactions and provide ad-hoc accounting advice as required Work independently and with other team members on technical topics to achieve practical outcomes Use technical knowledge and relationship with the business to be a catalyst for change and deliver commercial insights Business Partnering
Work with businesses to ensure that advice and information can be provided proactively and as required Monthly review of information received from specific businesses– analysis and checklists, high-level review for accuracy, reasonableness and business understanding Liaise with GM's and FC's to answer queries on the month-end process or any technical areas Gain an understanding of businesses, explain why certain information is required from GFR and discuss how GFR can assist them. Perform deep dives into key accounting processes to ensure global "one best way" is maintained Month-End & Board Reporting
Preparation of areas of global board reporting; Relationships
Work with businesses to build relationships, understand the business and provide timely and accurate advice Build relationships and provide support to the Executive team Work with other Global expert teams (e.g. Global Tax, Global Treasury and Corporate Finance) to ensure best accounting outcomes from business strategies We'd love to hear from you if you have CA/CPA Qualified, minimum 2 years post completion Experience within an accounting firm (audit preferred) required Technical accounting experience under AASB / IFRS Previous FP&A experience advantageous but not required Advanced excel skills PowerBI experience is advantageous but not essential Commercial experience would be viewed as a benefit, but not mandatory What's in it for you? ?Culture: you will be employed by an inclusive company that offers a team culture like no other in the industry -Flight Centre Travel Group Australia is proud to be a certifiedGreat Place To Work Australia New Zealand Pty Ltd
