About the Role The Commercial Finance function at EA provides business partnering and commercial support to ensure that EnergyAustralia delivers maximum value from our resources. The role of the business partner teams is to drive business performance, through setting annual targets, building financial plans and forecasts and providing insights and support to evaluate key decisions.
We are embedded in the business to provide insights, advice and support for driving performance, decision-making, target setting, budgeting and forecasting.
As the Finance Partner of our Operations Division (which covers all our power generation assets) you will be responsible for:
Providing financial advice and direction to the Operations executive and Operations leadership teams. Providing deep insights into drivers of monthly results against budgets, forecasts and expectations (variance analysis) to the business and finance. Ensuring that Operations financial performance is clearly communicated to, and can be clearly articulated by the Head of Operations and relevant members of the Operations leadership team Identifying and monitoring key financial and operational metrics to enable timely and pro-active response to identified trends. Ensuring integrity, compliance and financial control in investments (Business Cases, Projects). Reviewing and challenging initiatives within Operations to ensure that business decisions are made with a clear understanding of likely financial outcomes. Providing insight into the underlying drivers of financial performance (value drivers) Aligning weekly and monthly reporting and analysis of operational business drivers which are linked to financial outcomes Playing an active role as a member of the Commercial Finance leadership team. Contributing to setting direction, vision, objectives to set and deliver Commercial finance's agenda at EA. About You To be successful in this role, we anticipate the successful candidate will have performed in a similar capacity and we are also open to individuals who bring cross functional experience. Perhaps you started your career in Engineering before transitioning into a commercial/financial discipline; understanding the operations, engineering and project demands of a business through 1st hand experience will ensure your ability to really have influence in this role. Additionally, we expect you will bring;
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or economics or another relevant degree Post graduate qualifications Minimum 8 years' experience in finance Proven experience in providing finance support to an asset intensive business (mining, resources, infrastructure, energy etc) Strong communication and relationship building skills Previous experience in people management and leadership High degree of business acumen If you share our passion for a clean energy future for all and want to join us #Doing.
