Sandgate Kids Early Education is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation operating two Early Education Centres and a C&K affiliated Kindergarten. We are currently seeking a community-focused, part-time Finance Partner to oversee the finance function at Sandgate Kids, based in Sandgate. We offer flexible working arrangements, an employee assistance program, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative team.
Responsibilities Partner with the association and leadership team to develop and execute financial strategies to support long-term decision making. Drive the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring financial plans align with operational goals and strategic initiatives, while identifying opportunities for improvement. Perform in-depth financial analysis to deliver actionable insights for data-driven decisions, presenting findings on profitability, cost trends, and financial risks to guide strategic planning and operational enhancements. Serve as a trusted advisor to the team, simplifying complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships with service leaders to promote a unified approach to achieving the organisation's goals. Manage and oversee transactional finance tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in payroll, accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities to support the overall financial operations of Sandgate Kids. Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports for the executive and leadership team. Reporting and Working Relationships This role reports to the Sandgate Kids Association Executive and collaborates with the leadership team to support the successful operations and financial sustainability of Sandgate Kids. The Finance Partner supervises one direct report, the Finance Officer.
Selection Criteria Qualifications in, or strong knowledge of, accounting procedures with the ability to resolve practical, day-to-day operational issues. Strong interpersonal skills including an ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders including a management committee and service leaders. Excellent attention to detail and a solution-focused mindset. Self-management and effective prioritisation within time constraints. Proficiency in XERO or similar accounting software. Intermediate skills in Excel. A current Blue Card (or willingness to apply).
