As part of the Finance and Corporate Services team, the Finance Officer (Payroll) facilitates an efficient, effective and timely payroll service to all staff.
The primary focus of this role is to process end to end payroll transactions however involvement in additional finance tasks will be required in addition to the role collaborating with the company HR Consultant from time to time.
NOTE: This is not a human resources position.
The position's set hours and days have some flexibility and will be discussed at interview stage.
We are open to both Part time and Full time candidates however part time candidates would ideally be available 25 hours per week and must be available Monday / Tuesday.
Position Duties Processing of weekly payroll transactions (onboarding through to termination) for 200+ employees.Respond to payroll queries and requests in a timely manner, leading with professionalism and patience at all times.QLeave data preparation and reportingMaintain organised paperless filing and archiving systems for easy retrieval of all payroll records.Maintain payroll operations insuring company policies and procedures compliance.Preparation and reconciliation of payroll data for timely processing / payment ensuring accurate and consistent practice.Monthly reconciliation and reporting of payroll related dataMonitor STP reporting to ATO and finalise year end STP reporting.Manage, process, and reconcile Superannuation Guarantee contributions including Salary sacrifice.Proactively identify areas for process improvement and contribute ideas to enhance systems and workflows.Involvement in staff training / new staff induction of payroll related records and processesProactive preparation of employee communications on a regular basis regarding forthcoming payroll-related events, including public holidays, the end of FBT, EOFY reporting, and other eventsCollaborate with various business units to maintain smooth payroll processes.Liaise with Salary Sacrifice Third party provider, ensuring timely processing and reporting of data.Provide support to other areas of the finance team as required.Assist HR consultant and Finance Manager with payroll related issues.Provide administrative backup support as required.Minimum 2 years practical experience, processing high volume payrollHands on ELMO PayPTAor IntelliHR payrollsoftware experience advantageous but not essentialThe ability to manage several inquiries and prioritise duties, whilst maintaining attention to details and accuracyCapacity to engage, collaborate, and communicate with a range of stakeholders, including a diverse workforce across differing business units and industries.MS Office suite experience (Intermediate level or above)Knowledge of Salary Sacrifice arrangements advantageous, however not essential.Sound understanding and knowledge of awards, in particular penalty and overtime rates.
