We have multiple State Government opportunities available for experienced Payroll Officers and Accounts Payable Officers.
Core duties and responsibilities: Accounts Payable Officer - Reviews invoices to ensure appropriate authorisation for payment in compliance with the relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
Scan high volumes of invoices and data into the system with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
Verifies the accuracy of invoices ready to be loaded into the system.
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure invoices are processed for timely approval and payment within agreed payment terms.
Accurately process manual invoices, including employee reimbursements, petty cash and payroll deductions.
Prepares and reconciles invoice batches ready for Certification.
Manages the centralised Accounts Payable mailboxes.
Processes credit notes and follow up on refunds from suppliers.
Matches invoices to Purchase Orders and receipts.
Investigates and corrects all discrepancies and errors detected in Accounts Payable processing.
Payroll Officer - Provides accurate and consistent advice to a range of clients across the portfolio on a range of remuneration matters, including interpretation of relevant policy and legislation Creates and maintains accurate remuneration records to comply with policy and legislative requirements and maintains the integrity of the Human Resource Management Information System database.
Processes a range of remuneration transactions in accordance with processing timeframes and calculates and provides advice to clients on entitlements.
Provides advice and assistance to staff on the end to end remuneration process and related administrative requirements, ensuring any action is undertaken within agreed timeframes.
Core Competencies: We're seeking candidates with a demonstrated understanding of Payroll and/or Accounts Payable functions with at least 1 year + relevant experience.
Ability to gain proficiency in legislation, policy and internal processes.
Well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to liaise and provide suitable advice to internal and external stakeholders Sound organisational and time management skills, including an ability to work methodically with a high degree of attention to detail and to work to deadlines.
