The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians.

About the role: The Finance Officer role is responsible for supporting the Principal Advisor and Manager, Health Service Financial Performance in understanding and delivery of the department's strategic financial investment in Victoria's health system, health service financial sustainability and to be the interface between the Department of Health and health services.
Against the context of increased financial sustainability challenges for Victoria's health services, this position is part of a specialist branch that coordinates the financial performance of health services.
The role reports to the Principal Advisor, Health Service Financial Performance branch and works alongside a team of Finance Business Partners (Health Sector) and Financial Performance Analyst and assist in providing financial management analysis in supporting public health services and hospitals.
This role assists in the preparation of health service financial information for developing reports and undertaking detailed financial analysis.
The role also assists in preparing and coordinating reporting tasks such as variance reporting, PAEC questionnaires and briefings and ad-hoc financial information requests from internal stakeholders.
This involves building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear reporting and tight timelines are adhered to.
