About the Opportunity

The Finance Officer - Financial Accounting oversees the operations associated with Council's grants and subsidies and their associated reconciliation to meet legislative requirements. This position is part time (approximately 18 hours per week) and fixed term until 30 June 2026. This position can be based at any of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara/Wandoan).

You will: Assist with overseeing, receipting, reconciling transactions and maintaining Council's Trust register, including monthly reporting requirements and undertaking administrative processes associated with public trustee requirements; Assist with transitioning trust register to OneCouncil; Assist with overseeing, receipting, and reconciling transactions within Council's banking facilities; Assist with reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and other end of year financial reporting requirements as directed; Assist with funding acquittals for grants and other financial returns, including the administrative and financial reconciliations for Wambo River Improvement Trust.

About yourself

A person in this position will need a relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting or in a related field OR

be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have knowledge of Local Government administrative systems, processes, and standards.
