Our Sydney office is expanding, and we're looking for a skilled Finance Manager to join our dynamic team.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Finance Manager preferably with a strong background in real estate and trust accounting. The ideal candidate will manage the financial health of the organisation, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and drive growth and profitability. In this role, you will oversee and manage an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable team and assist with the design and implementation of an Accounts Payable/Receivable system. You will also work closely with senior leadership to deliver key financial insights and manage trust accounts, ensuring all fiduciary duties are performed in alignment with industry standards. You will be working closely with the Managing Director and Founder of the company, subsequently this an office based role where you will be required to work in our office.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee and manage all financial operations related to real estate and trust accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal and industry standards.Maintain and monitor trust accounts, ensuring proper documentation, reconciliation, and adherence to regulations governing trust management.Prepare, analyse, and present financial statements, reports, and forecasts to senior management.Lead and oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic recommendations to improve financial performance.Monitor cash flow, ensuring liquidity and financial stability of the company.Manage the implementation of an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable solution to streamline financial operations.Manage the Accounts Payable and Receivable team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and adherence to internal policies.Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting and operational efficiency.Collaborate with the real estate team to manage the financial aspects of property transactions, including cash flow, profitability analysis, and investment returns.Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, trust accounting regulations, and real estate industry laws.Manage audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure operational efficiency.Work with various stakeholders, including legal teams, real estate agents, and financial institutions, to ensure smooth financial operations and trust account management.Oversee and manage weekly payroll, BAS lodgements, employee superannuation contributions, payroll tax, company tax compliance, and insurance matters, including workers' compensation.Oversee, manage, and monitor Xero and DEXT (receipt and invoice solutions), ensuring all systems are up to date at all times.Qualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CA qualification preferred.Proven experience (5+ years) in finance management, with a strong focus on real estate and trust accounting.Experience managing the implementation of Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable solutions.Strong understanding of financial forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.In-depth knowledge of Australian real estate and trust accounting regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to deliver clear financial insights.Proficient in financial software and trust accounting systems.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or SAP) and advanced knowledge of Excel.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality.Why Join ShareSortedBe part of a forward-thinking, fast growing company that is transforming real estate.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Collaborative and supportive team environment.Competitive salary and benefits package.Office is located in Marrickville, within a 1 minute walk to Sydenham Train Station.How to ApplyIf you're ready to take your finance career to the next level and contribute to a fast-growing company, apply today.
