Management Accounting & Budgeting (Accounting) Hobart Women's Shelter (HWS) is seeking to recruit a Finance Manager. We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment to working for an organisation that supports Tasmanian women and children in crisis. The Finance Manager is responsible for the overall management of the finance functions of the organisation including, but not limited to: Monthly and end of year financial reconciliations and reporting; Audit support; Budgeting; Maintaining assets register and depreciation schedule and stocktake; Accounts payable and receivable; Employee leave entitlements; GST balances; PAYG; Superannuation; Salary packaging; and Payroll. Qualifications and experience: Essential - Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business. Essential - Minimum 5 years experience in an autonomous finance role. Desirable - CPA or CA qualified, or working towards. Desirable - Experience in the Not-for-Profit-sector. We will consider applicants who have the relevant technical skills for the position but may need some mentoring and external supervision to progress to the higher level. Current Driver's licence Working with Vulnerable People Check Current Police Check IT proficiency in the use of Excel, Xero (or similar payroll software), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, client databases and cloud-based technologies, or the ability to learn these packages. Remuneration: SCHADS Award Level 5 or Level 6 depending on qualifications and experience. Access to pro rata long service leave after 5 years of continuous service. Access to salary packaging.
