Finance Manager

Finance Manager
Company:

Safewill

Details of the offer

Our Story At Safewill, we're reshaping end-of-life planning in Australia, making it more affordable, personal, and accessible for all. Since our launch, we've grown rapidly and are now one of the country's fastest-growing tech companies. Backed by leading investors like Westpac's Reinventure Fund, Carthona Capital, and Flying Fox Ventures, we're scaling fast—and we need a finance leader who will help us build a finance function that will set us up for success.
But let's be real—working at a startup is challenging. There's no playbook, and you'll be building from scratch most of the time. This is a hands-on role where you'll not only help scale our finance operations but also play a key role in our growth strategy.
Your Story with Us This role is perfect for a Finance Manager who gets excited about being both strategic and hands-on—someone who enjoys collaborating across departments, optimising workflows, and empowering teams to make data-driven decisions.
Over the first 6-12 months, you will:
Collaborate with the CFO to scope and implement financial solutions that support hyper-growth. Work with senior leadership to design and roll out systems that streamline operations and support scalability. Implement best-in-class finance processes that enable fast delivery without compromising on control or accuracy. Partner with all department heads to optimise their financial operations and empower them to deliver. Leverage the latest tech to provide real-time reporting and insights to senior leaders. Build a robust regulatory framework as we begin our regulatory journey. Be instrumental in establishing systems that ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards. Take ownership of the core finance function, covering: Financial operations management, including AR/AP, payroll, and revenue recognition. Risk management, compliance, and ensuring alignment with all financial regulations. Cash flow and treasury management to support business growth. Ongoing:
Create a high-performance finance team by leading, mentoring, and developing the team. Collaborate across the company to ensure that finance is a proactive business partner, providing actionable insights for growth. Manage FP&A processes, including budget development, forecasting, and ensuring cash flow management aligns with company goals. Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and controls, leveraging the latest tech solutions to enhance delivery and insights. Support capital raises and M&A opportunities, providing essential financial insights and structuring. Why Join Safewill? Shape the future: You'll be instrumental in building a best-in-class finance function from the ground up, using cutting-edge technology to drive efficiency and insights. Own your impact: You'll work closely with the leadership team, playing a crucial role in scaling the company and ensuring key business decisions are made with accurate financial data. Lead and develop a team: You'll have the opportunity to lead and grow a finance team, building a culture of excellence and high performance. Strategic and operational focus: You'll take full ownership of the finance function, managing day-to-day operations while also contributing to strategic initiatives such as capital raises and M&A. Flexible, growth-oriented environment: Safewill offers a fast-paced, flexible environment where your ideas will shape the company's future, and you'll have the chance to grow alongside us. Wondering if you should apply? Are you a finance professional who thrives in high-growth environments? If you've built or led a finance function in a start-up/scale-up, love the challenge of setting up systems and processes from scratch, and have a passion for leveraging tech to streamline operations, we want to hear from you!
