About Us Join Us as a Finance Manager in the Corporate Services Team.
Do you have Finance Management experience? Are you equipped to lead a team to deliver outcomes within the Commonwealth government finance sector? Experience and knowledge working with the Department of Finance and the Australian National Audit Office is desirable.
The Australian Human Rights Commission is based in the heart of Sydney CBD, with flexible hybrid and remote work options available. This full-time, ongoing position offers a competitive salary ranging from $111,649 to $124,836 per annum, plus 15.4% superannuation.

About the Team We're a dedicated Finance team driving strategic programs and operational activities that span the entire employee lifecycle. Our focus is on creating an exceptional experience for every employee, from recruitment through to ongoing development.
About the Role The purpose of the role is to lead a small team to deliver efficient, high-quality financial operational services; statutory reporting function and implement the strategy and direction for the function, as provided by the Chief Finance Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality advice to the CFO on managing risk within the financial operations team. The financial operations team is responsible for the Commission's accounts receivable and payable functions, cash management, fixed asset management, Comcover insurance reporting and claims processing, procurement support, official travel contract administration, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, month-end processes, and statutory reporting requirements. Recommend, consult on, draft and implement policy updates and process improvements that promote sound financial management and controls that appropriately manage fraud and operational risks and withstand the scrutiny of internal and external audits. Ensure completion of accurate financial reports for external stakeholders. Oversee the timely and accurate delivery of the Commission's taxation reporting obligations. Proactively manage the completion of year-end financial statements including liaison with auditors to facilitate interim and year-end audit. Skills & Experience Provide leadership to effectively manage the financial operations team, overseeing programs of work and activities. Drive a respectful and inclusive culture of high performance by providing supervision, direction and clear communication regarding role responsibilities & expectations. Identify relevant training and development opportunities. Provide guidance, information and support to the team to assist with interpretation of legislative requirements, policies and procedures to ensure practices are consistently applied. Provide advice on the application of accounting standards and the Commonwealth Financial Reporting Rule as they apply to the Commission as a Corporate Commonwealth Entity under the PGPA Act. Draft accounting position papers for consideration by the Australian National Audit Office. CPA or CA membership. Additional Information Apply Today!
