About Our Client Our client is a mining company who has recently acquired numerous sizeable projects and therefore needs to bolster their in-house finance function to deliver on these projects.
Job Description This will initially be a stand-alone position until the time comes to grow the team (expected to be second half of this year), this requires the individual to be capable and willing to execute on all finance related duties including:
The Company's external reporting and compliance with statutory financial obligations.Manage and operate the company's accounting system.Reporting to trial balance, all general ledger reconciliations.Accounts Payable, working with the treasurer to pay accounts.Monthly Payroll & all statutory payments for the payroll function (under 10 employees). The Successful Applicant Minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in financial management, with demonstrated expertise in a mining environment.Experience with Accounting Systems, preferably Xero, MYOB or similar software, including customisation and report generation.Strong leadership skills.Excellent written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills.Attention to detail and developed organisational skills.Strong numerical ability and accurate reporting and analysis, including ability to self-review.Ability to work to deadlines and establish priorities.Can work well under pressure and maintain a high quality of work.Demonstrated operational experience (accounting) in a mining environment.Developed understanding of mining operations, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.Experience with establishing and maintaining account software such as Xero or MYOB and can customise and generate ad hoc reports.Developed analytical skills, proficient with Excel, able to present data in a meaningful way.Understanding of Construction Accounting, Operation Accounting.Bilingual - Fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin) in both written and oral.
