Finance Manager The Finance Manager leads the finance team and is a direct report to the Business Manager. The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial functions including managing the oversite of accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reporting, payroll and other financial and administrative functions. The Finance Manager will also provide commercial support to the senior leadership team and oversee printing and dispatch department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Team ManagementLeadership of the finance teamDevelopment and performance management of finance staffDevelopment of relationships with the Finance Committee members, senior management, key staff and internal stakeholdersDevelopment of professional networks with independent schools, external stakeholders, service providers and local professionals.Prepare the annual financial statements in accordance with statutory requirementsLiaise with the Business Manager and assist external auditors in interim and annual audit of the College.Prepare and compile all regulatory compliance and reporting requirements within the compliance timetable including financial questionnaires, GST and FBT returnsPrepare management accounts for presentation to budget managers and the College Finance Committee, as requiredAssist the Business Manager with the preparation of the Annual Budget and implement effective mechanisms for its ongoing reviewMonitor cash flow providing reports and forecasts as requiredContribute to the ongoing development of the College's financial management systemsDevelop and ensure internal controls are adhered to and maintainedGeneral ledger maintenance and controlEnsure ongoing maintenance and reconciliation of the College Asset Register, including regular audit of assets and conditions.Payroll All functioning aspects of the payroll systemTimely preparation of the regular payroll runsManagement of all applicable employee contract remuneration dataDevelopment of applicable payroll trend data that supports manpower planningDevelop and utilise applicable internal auditing tools to ensure continual compliance with all necessary legislative and applicable financial standardsSalary packaging for employees.Other duties as directed by the Principal and/or Business Manager REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE Qualifications in Business / Commerce with accounting or finance are essentialApplicable experience of five (5) years minimumCPA/CA Qualifications or near completionDemonstrated experience in the management of staff, projects and financial systemsExperience & knowledge using accounting database systems such as TASS within a school system preferred, but not essentialIt is essential the applicant possesses strong Christian character and is supportive of the College Christian values.SELECTION CRITERIA The ability to work effectively and cooperatively in small, cross-functional teams and to model to values of Riverside Christian CollegeDemonstrated experience in financial management, internal controls, statutory reporting and accounting practicesDemonstrated ability to manage staff including their conduct, development and performanceQualifications and experience in business / commerce with accounting.
