We provide Indigenous leadership in the delivery of large-scale and complex programs that meet the environment, social, cultural, and economic needs of Indigenous people across northern Australia. The Opportunity The Finance Manager manages the accounting, financial reporting and funds management functions of NAILSMA. The overall responsibility of this position is to assist the Chief Operating Officer in the sound financial management of the organisation. This includes payroll, creditors, debtors, budgets, grant reporting and acquittals, monitoring and reporting on finances, administration support, supervising a small team, implementing procedures and policies, and ensuring compliance with obligations.
About You Enjoy managing finances and take satisfaction from a job well doneHave a good knowledge and understanding of Indigenous people and culture with a demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectivelyHold accounting qualificationsAre confident in providing advice regarding financials with funding (from governments, the private, corporate and philanthropic sectors) including grant reporting and acquittalsHave the capacity to establish work priorities and to work to deadlines with minimal supervisionHave high level oral and written communication skillsCan demonstrate your administrative and financial management experienceCan effectively and efficiently use information technology and programs including Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint, computerized accounting systems and other information technology in particular relating to financial recording/reportingCan interpret and apply industrial awards/EBA's and payroll systemsHave experience in supervising staff in a positive and professional mannerHold a driver's license, or have the ability to obtainHave experience working in a Non For Profit organization (desirable)Be a Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant member (desirable)Your Reward 6 weeks Annual leaveSalary sacrificeA supportive teamNote This is a full-time role, however there may be an option to job share on a part-time basis.
