Silks is a membership-based local community club including bistro, gaming room, sports bar, and a few conference & events spaces around the business overlooking the raceground.About the roleDTC/Silks is looking for the next finance guru, responsible for overseeing the financial and management reporting obligations whilst ensuring financial health and optimal business performance. This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for managing a small team in finance.Key ResponsibilitiesOverseeing and managing all aspects of the finance departmentOversight of the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the general ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash-Flow statementsCompletion of the commentary around variance to budget and cashflow forecastingPrepare and present financial reports on a monthly basis to the DTC board & CEOPreparing the annual statutory accountsPreparation and lodgment of all statutory returns such as BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and GSTLiaising with external auditors and banksManaging the company's financial systemsProviding commentary and analysis around the company's performance to the management teamProviding financial advice to managers regarding initiatives to improve the company's financial performanceCoordinate preparation of DTC budgets and financial plans.
