The Role As we continue to scale, we are seeking a passionate and hands-on Finance Manager to join our North Sydney team and play a pivotal role in our journey.
This is a unique opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented finance professional to take ownership and accountability for the financial compliance and control of our group. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring expertise in financial reporting for multiple entities and groups, and have a solid grasp of compliance, taxation, and financial systems.
The role includes managing a team of between 3-5 staff, working closely with the General Managers, the COO and the CEO, and will report directly into the group's Head of Finance.
Key responsibilities include: Financial Compliance & Control: Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, statutory regulations, and internal policies.Group Financial Reporting: Prepare, review, and consolidate financial reports for multiple entities within the group.Tax Compliance: Oversee and manage tax obligations, including BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax, and corporate tax filings.Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting, while conducting regular assessments of internal controls and recommend improvements.Systems & Processes: Leverage and optimize systems such as Xero and Netsuite to enhance financial reporting and controls.Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the FP&A team to develop, manage, and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.Stakeholder Management: Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and senior management, to ensure robust financial governance.Ad-Hoc Analysis & Projects: Provide advanced financial analysis and lead projects that support strategic decision-making.Process Improvement: Drive efficiencies in financial operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and scalability.Your Background You will bring the following:
Qualifications: Big 4 accounting firm experience is essential.Experience: 8+ years of experience in a senior financial position and have team management experience.Proven track record in managing financial compliance and controls in a commercial environment.Experience reporting on multiple entities, consolidations, and group structures.Hands-on experience with Xero and/or Netsuite is a strong advantage.Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in working with complex financial models and producing quality and insightful analytics.A commercial background in renewable energy or related industries is advantageous.Skills: Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent reporting-writing and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced SME environment.Required: Must have full Australian work rights.Why CleanPeak Energy?
