Our client is a leading provider of fresh produce, meat, and small goods to both the retail and resource sectors across Australia, with an export division servicing Papua New Guinea. They are seeking a skilled Financial Manager in their Cairns office to oversee end-of-month reporting, year-end data processing, and provide ongoing support and guidance to the accounts team.The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical and compliance knowledge, with a thorough understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Taxation Legislation. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with the ability to manage priorities, ensure attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines.Key Responsibilities:Oversee fortnightly payroll functions across four payroll companiesEnsure the efficient and effective delivery of financial and administrative supportHandle statutory reporting and general data maintenanceConduct analysis of debtors and creditorsMaintain compliance with payroll regulationsProvide timely, accurate information to the team and managementManage tax, statutory reporting, and compliance processesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow managementPrepare BAS, balance sheet, and P&L reconciliationsHandle payroll tax, month-end journals, provisions, and bank reconciliationsUndertake general administrative tasks as directed by the CEOSkills and Experience Required:Proven experience in payroll managementPrevious experience as a Finance ManagerTertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related fieldProficient in Excel, including advanced formulasFamiliarity with MS Outlook and WordExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a busy, changing environmentStrong time management and organizational abilitiesKnowledge of MYOB preferred, FRESH Software an advantageThis is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic business, working closely with senior management, including the CEO, to achieve financial objectives.What's in it for you?Competitive salary packagePart time (min 3 days) or Full-time opportunities availableOpportunity to work with a dynamic and growing businessCollaborative and supportive team environmentExposure to a broad range of financial functionsOpportunities for professional growth and developmentWork-life balance in a flexible and rewarding role
