Dambimangari are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead and manage the internal financial operations of the Corporation from Derby, Western Australia. Role is based in Derby WA, and relocation support provided to the successful candidate. Competitive salary with salary sacrificing up to $15,899 per annum. About the Role: The Finance Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the accounting and finance operations of Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC), ensuring financial health and stability through reporting, budgeting and compliance. Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the role will ensure the integrity, efficiency and accuracy of the Corporation's financial operations and information. What We Are Looking For: You will be an experienced Finance Manager with strong financial management competency and problem-solving skills and systems expertise with MYOB and TANDA. Ideally, you will have a background as an Accountant (CPA; CA) and/or as a well-rounded Finance Manager who will be comfortable working in a cross-cultural setting. You will be keen to further develop your knowledge of Indigenous culture and excited to live in and explore the remote Kimberley region. Duties will include: Lead the budget planning process and preparing the annual budget in consultation with the Corporate Services Manager and CEO for approval by the Board. Provide support on financial estimates and reports for new projects or for new funding applications. Ensure that processes and methods are in place to assist staff to develop and implement budgets in accordance with work plans. Daily financial processing and data entry (MYOB) including accounts payable and receivable, as well as ad-hoc Members Services and corporation payments. Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records, ensuring all records are reconciled and reviewed regularly and systematically. Prepare the month end profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow reports, including monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure all internal and external reporting, tax and compliance milestones are met. Qualifications and Experience: Registered BAS Agent (essential). Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (desirable). Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance management or accounting role (essential). Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) (desirable). Experience working with or within Aboriginal communities, preferably in a remote context (desirable). Practical application of financial management in an Aboriginal Corporation or Not-for-Profit environment (desirable). Proficiency in financial software and systems such as Xero, MYOB, SAP, etc. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Appreciation, sensitivity understanding and some knowledge of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander history, traditions, protocols and culture. Applications close 5:00pm, Friday 15 November 2024.
