The Finance Manager is a hands-on role leading the finance function of the Darwin Turf Club (DTC)/Silks; overseeing the financial and management reporting obligations whilst ensuring financial health and optimal business performance including identifying opportunities to enhance profitability in a competitive market. Responsibilities: Overseeing and managing all aspects of the finance department Oversight of the month-end process including ensuring the completion of the general ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the monthly Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash-Flow statements Completion of the commentary around variance to budget Cashflow forecasting Prepare and present financial reports on a monthly basis to DTC board & CEO Preparing the annual statutory accounts Preparation and lodgement of all statutory returns such as BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT, and GST Liaising with external auditors and banks Managing the company's financial systems Providing commentary and analysis around the company's performance to the management team Providing financial advice to managers regarding initiatives to improve the company's financial performance Coordinate preparation of DTC budgets and financial plans. Assist managers with the development of operating budgets Oversee and manage the daily functions of Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Management of 3 direct reports and collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer with finance projections and departmental budget requirements. Control company costs and introduce strategic initiatives to reduce expenditure Promote a positive and professional culture among staff.
