Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract, full timeHybrid role, Happy to talk flexible workingThe opportunityAn exciting opportunity to join QBE as we build out our climate reporting policies and disclosures in line with the upcoming changes to reporting requirements.As part of QBE's Group Sustainability function and working closely with the Head of Group Statutory Reporting & Accounting Policy and subject matter experts across the business, you will lead the development of the Group's climate reporting policies and guidance, and drive the production of the Group's climate-related financial disclosures in the Annual Report, recommending disclosures based on consideration of QBE business strategy, evolving market practice and current and upcoming mandatory climate reporting requirements.Your new roleIn this role you will:Lead the development of the Group's climate-related reporting policies and guidance in accordance with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS), working closely with key stakeholders across the business, including Finance, Sustainability, Risk, and Underwriting teams.Provide technical input and develop supporting technical papers on the application of measurement and reporting requirements under ASRS.Support the preparation of the Group's climate-related financial disclosures in the Annual Report and develop pro forma disclosures that comply with ASRS.Develop and present training on current and future climate-related financial disclosure standards.About youOur ideal candidate will have extensive finance accounting policy or financial reporting experience. Insurance industry experience is advantageous. You will have a keen interest in climate reporting, and any prior experience within this would be highly advantageous.Excellent technical accounting knowledge – AGAAP/IFRS with a focus on standards relevant to QBE's business.Strong technical skills enabling analysis of requirements, and commercial and practical application.Strong project management and planning capabilities to coordinate the review of climate reporting policies and disclosures.Proven experience of dealing with people at all levels in the organisation, strong stakeholder management experience and the ability to negotiate, persuade and influence within a global team.About QBEWe can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
