We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. This is a part-time position working 2-3 days per week, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment in Sydney. You will report to the Financial Accountant and collaborate with various teams as needed.
Daily Tasks: Process and reconcile financial transactionsAssist with bank reconciliationsMonitor accounts payable and receivableMaintain and update financial records in XeroProvide support for daily accounting inquiriesAd hoc tasks as assignedMonthly & Quarterly Tasks: Assist in the preparation of IAS and BAS returnsReconcile monthly accounts and track expense reimbursementsPrepare revenue recognition schedules under AASB 15Assist with payroll journal postings and related reportingCalculate and lodge payroll taxEnsure compliance with relevant financial regulationsYearly Tasks: Assist with the year-end close processAssist with annual auditsAssist with the preparation of financial statementsHelp with budgeting and forecastingAssist with Income tax return preparationKey Requirements: 2-3 years of experience in an Assistant Accountant role or similarQualification as a CA/CPA or currently studying strongly preferredStrong experience with Xero accounting softwareFamiliarity with G-Suite (Google Workspace) is preferred, but not essentialExcellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlinesA proactive team player with excellent communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to navigate and manage competing prioritiesThis is an opportunity for someone seeking a flexible role in a supportive environment, with the potential for professional growth.
