Finance Director - Board Position (unpaid)The West Adelaide Football and Footballers Club (WAFC) is a not-for-profit sporting body, forming part of the SANFL. WAFC is one of the oldest Clubs in South Australia, with a history dating back to 1892.WAFC values diversity and is seeking to augment the existing skill set of its Board through the appointment of a dedicated Finance Director who holds current certification and tertiary skills in finance, accounting or a related field.General duties of the Board include:Meeting monthly to formulate and monitor WAFC strategyOversee organisational risk, accountability and complianceEnsure effective governance and processes are in placeParticipate in a minimum of one WAFC committeeThere is a requirement that all Board members attend regular meetings and actively contribute to the collective decision of the Board to further the interests of the WAFC.Specific skills required:Current certification in finance, accounting or similar with a state or national body (for example CA, CPA)An interest in Australian Rules footballWillingness to work collaboratively with others at the strategic levelExperience with financial management, planning, fundraising and strategic financial reportingPrior experience with a not-for-profit organisation or on a Board is highly desirableBoard members must reside in South Australia
