Full Time Position An exciting opportunity for an energetic, strategically focused, hands-on finance professional to join our Finance team at our Braeside head office and manufacturing facility. This is a newly established role to add depth to our experienced Finance team during a period of digital transformation and growth.
About Us Armstrong Flooring, Australia's only resilient floor coverings manufacturer and a key supplier to health and other commercial markets, distributes a wide range of both locally manufactured and imported flooring for both commercial and residential markets throughout Australia, New Zealand, and export markets including the USA and China.
Having recently been purchased by a well-known Australian family, the business is undergoing a digital transformation during a period of rapid growth and requires a finance controller/manager with vision and enthusiasm to develop the statutory reporting and taxation framework to ensure Armstrong Flooring's Australian and NZ financial operations are efficient, compliant, and optimized for business performance. This role will also be critical in driving the smooth and effective transition of Armstrong Flooring's finance functions from BPCS to Microsoft Dynamics, maximizing all processing, automation, and reporting improvement opportunities.
The Role Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will assist in the development and execution of short and long-term financial strategies for the business. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely and accurate compilation of financial reporting and analysis, as well as maintaining statutory and taxation compliance. Additionally, you will provide ongoing support and guidance to drive performance and profitability of the business.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure provision of accurate financial reporting on a timely basis including month-end and year-end accounting processes.Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including tax filings.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.Establish and manage the financial risk management framework.Develop and monitor performance measures for the company's operations.Responsible for and coordinate year-end accounting processes including preparation of statutory accounts and associated external auditing processes.Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes.Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and controls to support the company's growth and enhance financial performance.About You You will possess the following qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in Finance and CA/CPA qualifications.Audit experience is preferred.Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in a senior finance role.Demonstrated and strong commercial acumen with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate financial information to stakeholders.Strong understanding of accounting and reporting standards and compliance requirements.Resilience and persistence, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.Ability to think critically and creatively to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.Experience working in a manufacturing business is an advantage.Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an advantage.If you are looking for a position with the opportunity for professional development and enhancement of your skills, while elevating the business through its ongoing growth – this is the role for you.
