The Role
Join this forward-thinking mining company as a Finance Business Partner for Mining Operations. Reporting to the Business Planning & Analysis Team Leader, you'll manage a Business Analyst and work closely with key stakeholders, including the Mine Manager, UG Project Director, and Finance Manager. You'll be integral in budgeting, forecasting, and analytical reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and driving continuous improvement across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare budgeting, forecasting, and analytical reports within established frameworks.
Support the Business Planning and Analysis Team Leader with ad hoc reporting and project evaluations.
Preparation of monthly reports including cost and analysis reports, capital expenditure, cashflow forecasts and ancillary reports at the completion of the month end process.
Guideline management in budget preparation and cost performance analysis.
Develop and mentor team members, assist with Management Information System (MIS) reporting, and enhance cost reporting using PowerBI.
Act as a trusted advisor, offering financial insights, strategic initiatives to help drive performance improvements.
Frequent communication with the mine operations teams with regards to budgeting and forecasting.
Minimum Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, or Finance/Accounting.
CPA/CA or working towards.
3 years of professional experience in an accounting/finance role.
2 years mining experience required (in a finance-related role).
Strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel, and proficiency with PowerBI.
Office & Working Conditions
Office-based with the option to WFH once settled into the role.
Monday to Friday, 40-hour week with flexible hours.
Located near Burnie Waterfront, surrounded by cafes and amenities.
Weekly site visits to the mine (Returning home each evening or staying on site where you feel necessary).
