Your new companyOur client is a dynamic local government body located on Adelaide's eastern city fringe. Dedicated to delivering high-quality service to their cosmopolitan and culturally diverse community, our clients promote community engagement and are committed to improving the overall wellbeing of their citizens. An exciting newly created opportunity is now available for an experienced and qualified Accounting Professional to join the Chief Executive's Office on a permanent full-time basis and contribute to excellence in service delivery.Your new roleAs the Finance Business Partner, you will report to the Council's Chief Financial Officer and work with the Finance Unit and across the organisation to deliver strategic financial outcomes associated with the organisation's financial management and budget. This role will provide high-quality financial advice, financial modelling, accounting services, financial business improvements, and support across the organisation.The Finance Business Partner will provide a conduit between the Finance Unit and the broader organisation and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Deliver strategies and goals related to the financial performance of the Business UnitsAssist in coordinating budgeting and forecastingPrepare relevant financial reportsUndertake financial analysisIdentifying business improvement opportunitiesProvide financial adviceIn addition, you will also be required to assist in preparing the Council's annual budget and provide advice as well as prepare budget reports for the Executive Leadership Team as requested.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you will have:Tertiary Qualification in Finance, Accounting (Essential).Minimum five (5) years' experience working in a Finance or Accounting related position.The ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.Sound interpersonal and communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office.Financial modelling skills.Attention to detail and accuracy.Experience in local government will be advantageous, but is not essential.What you'll get in returnIn return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive salary package, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to work in a supportive and collaborative team environment.
