About the opportunity
The Finance Partner will oversee financial matters for the designated client portfolio. They deliver financial services aligned with strategic priorities, driving continuous improvement in financial processes, and actively contribute to shaping business decisions. They also provide authoritative financial guidance and risk management expertise, and actively participate in the development and enhancement of finance related policies and procedures.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
partner with the client portfolio and lead planning and operational committees, overseeing financial matters with increasing complexity and strategic importance
drive continuous improvement efforts for financial processes and services, optimising efficiency and effectiveness for client groups
participate in a range of processes, such as development and review of finance related policy and procedure, financial management initiatives and changes to practice
engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders facilitating dialogues to address concerns and gather feedback, ensuring alignment with work area goals
lead the development and management of budgets and ensure that expenditures align with approved financial plans for the work area.
About you
post graduate qualifications in a relevant field
experience in higher education (preferred not essential) or within a large complex organisation
proven experience in cost accounting, forecasting, budget development and reporting
financial planning and analysis experience within interpreting and applying accounting standards
ability to communicate effectively with key negotiation and influencing skills.
