Reporting to the Finance Manager - South Australia and Victoria, and working as a business partner within these regions, you will work closely with non-finance business leaders to provide forward-looking analysis and guidance, commercial insights and general ad hoc support. As a key member of the team, you will provide proactive support in the financial and management accounting requirements of the business. This will include building capability around technical delivery, project and client outcomes, all aspects of establishing cost reporting, analysis, budgeting and reporting.
Key to your success will be process improvement recommendations - streamlining processes and implementing efficient cost sharing methodologies. We want you to embrace a practical and proactive approach with a willingness to actively participate at a practical level.
In this busy and varied role, you will be responsible for: Providing trusted financial advice to key stakeholders to align business direction, financial strategies and utilising a variety of data sources to support sound decision making.Promptly alerting the key business risks affecting the business and developing and implementing actions to mitigate the business risks and to optimise business performance.Providing support and assisting Project Managers, Project Directors and other key stakeholders as required, including assistance with pricing/ commercial analysis support for project proposals and major projects.Ensuring each project in the project management system is set up in accordance with the terms agreed with clients and accurately reflects the work breakdown structure, commercial terms and billing requirements.Conducting monthly analytical reviews of projects (Budget, Effort, Revenue, Work in Progress (WIP), Accounts Receivables, Project variances) and engaging with Project Managers/ Directors and stakeholders for discussion to ensure optimal performance including accurate revenue recognition, submission of billings in a timely manner and payment of client invoices on time. What you will bring to the team: Bachelor degree, Accounting, Finance or Commerce is a minimum, ideally also pursuing or completed CPA/CA qualification or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years' experience in Financial Accounting or similar, within professional services, construction or a project environment.Experience in developing, analysing and reporting to Budgets and Forecasts.Ability to operate under ambiguity and develop new ideas and business solutions with experience in implementation and embedding new systems considered favourably.Willingness to influence, manage and prioritise across diverse stakeholders, using highly developed communications skills.A strong adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality.Advanced skills in Excel and Microsoft Office suite.Familiarity with BST10, Power BI an advantage.
