Due to significant growth, we have an exciting Finance Business Partner role available.
As
Finance Business Partner (Infrastructure) , you will play an important role in partnering with leaders to provide financial and commercial advice, insightful reporting, and identify opportunities that improve the business performance of infrastructure projects at AusNet.
With a hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank, Melbourne and is part of the Finance – Development & Future Networks team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to:
Being first point of contact for all financial and accounting queries for the Infrastructure business (Development & Future Networks) and other relevant profit centre owners.
Engage and collaborate with the business and wider Finance team to support strategic and operational priorities through financial analysis, advice, and recommendations.
Provide financial support for major capital projects in the delivery and operating phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring knowledge transfer of relevant information in relation to project contracts from the Capital Investments team.
Review service-based contracts (including Preliminary Works Agreements) for new Infrastructure opportunities, ensuring returns are commensurate with relevant project risks, pricing principles are adhered to, and accounting and tax implications are accurately reflected.
Apply in-depth understanding of the drivers of the business to ensure accurate development of financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis.
Lead month-end processes down to an EBITDAaL level, ensuring data integrity and provide insightful analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance (risk and opportunities).
Be a trusted partner to business leaders to provide robust and timely financial advice and guidance in accounting and financial matters, policies, and processes.
Contribute to the monthly consolidated business unit reports, providing insightful recommendations to improve financial performance (actions, risks, and opportunities).
You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of:
Demonstrated experience as a Finance Business Partner within a similar role.
Advanced understanding of financial accounting (cost allocation, operating/capital expenditure, revenue recognition, project accounting) and financial management principles (including planning, budgeting, and forecasting).
Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to provide financial and commercial advice and influence positive financial outcomes.
Ability to analyse and interpret financial information to provide insightful and valued financial reporting and analysis to business stakeholders.
Advanced Excel and modelling skills, SAP experience.
Highly proficient with financial systems and always looking for ways to automate and gain efficiencies by maximising system capabilities.
Professional body membership: CA/CPA.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field essential.
