The Role Reporting to the Head of FP&A you will be responsible for delivering financial outcomes, by providing financial insights, analysis, guidance and advice. The role requires partnering with senior leaders, middle management and other operational leaders to develop and deliver budgets; in depth performance reporting; forecasting, financial modelling for business case preparation and/or new programs/projects and understanding and interpreting financial results and performance trends.
The focus is on analysis to promote performance improvement and reporting against key performance indicators, and provide guidance and advice on how the business area can meet their financial objectives now and in the longer-term.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
Lead the annual financial planning and forecasting cycles, collaborating with service managers to develop accurate and realistic budgets. Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and prior year data to provide actionable insights. Deliver management reports, presentations, and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Support business case development through financial modelling for new funding opportunities and projects. Partner with operational leaders to review financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and address challenges proactively. Ensure timely preparation and submission of financial reports for audits, funding acquittals, and benchmarking. Collaborate with the compliance team to meet reporting deadlines and enhance reporting processes.Identify and mitigate risks associated with business strategies and planning decisions. Train, coach, and support management accountants in achieving portfolio objectives. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment within the FPA and broader finance teams. Lead initiatives to improve work processes and implement change effectively. Stay updated on professional practices through regular training and development.Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Commerce with CA/CPA qualifications. Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner in complex, multi-program organizations. Strong analytical skills with expertise in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and identifying trends to support strategic decisions. Ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights and recommendations. Leadership capabilities, including driving change and fostering excellence. Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis within service-oriented environments. Exceptional written communication skills for reports, briefings, and presentations. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, including influencing and negotiation. Process improvement mindset with a focus on enhancing service standards.
