We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to support the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority. This role involves partnering with key project stakeholders to deliver comprehensive financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to guide informed decision making. Key responsibilities include producing targeted management reports, conducting variance analysis, and providing detailed financial commentary. The successful candidate will lead proactive cost control measures, identify potential risks and opportunities, and ensure the effective utilization of State funding. This position requires a hands-on approach to build and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders across the business, driving improvements in financial management and contributing to the overall success of the largest infrastructure project in SEQ.
About the Role: The purpose of the Finance Business Partner is to partner with assigned corporate teams within the Cross River Rail program to provide key management accounting support, expert financial and cost management advice, budgeting, and forecasting analysis.
Deliverables will include targeted management reporting, variance analysis, and insightful financial commentary. The role leads proactive cost control measures and identifies risk and opportunities for the program to ensure adequate utilization of State funding.
The Finance Business Partner is a hands-on role that proactively builds long term strategic working relationships with stakeholders across the business, identifying opportunities and leading change in financial management.
This position is offered as a two-year fixed term contract with possibility of extension. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain productive partnerships with key stakeholders to facilitate robust financial management and best for project outcomes.Provide insightful information and advice to key stakeholders.Preparation, reporting and analysis of monthly reporting data, cost planning, forecasts and budgets for the relevant Business Area.Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports to present at regular review meetings providing insight into performance.Preparation and continuous maintenance of financial models and ERP systems that inform the forecast and budget process.Support project variation and change processes for major works contracts, consultant support packages and internal Cost Breakdown Structure changes.Support the development and continuous improvement of finance and cost management systems, processes, and procedures.Support the Program Controls Office in change and risk management processes by updating cost plans and financial reporting of Contingency and Retained Risk (Project Risk).Partner with the Procurement team to ensure value for money and compliance with policies and procedures.About You: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following key competencies:
A minimum 5 years' experience in undertaking management accounting activities in a fast-paced environment, preferably with capital project experience.Ability to deal with ambiguity, finding clear solutions and communicating these effectively to stakeholders.Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with proven capability in building and maintaining financial models.Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with and influence key stakeholders to continually improve financial outcomes.Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting with completed CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification.Competent in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
