As Finance Business Partner, you will play an important role providing financial and commercial advice and support to the energy networks of AusNet. You will collaborate with the leadership team and profit centre owners to support strategic initiatives, provide insightful and accurate reporting and analysis of financials and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
With a Hybrid split (Southbank/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and you will be embedded within the assigned portfolio business unit, working within the Finance team.
This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: First point of contact for all financial and accounting queries for your embedded portfolio business unit Accountability for financial results, forecasting, budgeting and other month end processes down to an EBITDA level and Capex ensuring data integrity and quality Contribute to the monthly consolidated business unit reports, providing insightful recommendations to improve financial performance (actions, risks and opportunities) Support Corporate Finance in the development of the Annual Financial Plan, providing inputs as required Partner with key stakeholders to provide robust and timely financial advice and guidance in accounting and financial matters Provide financial modelling and analysis to satisfy stakeholder requests, deliver financial insights and support key business decisions Contribute to continuous review and improvement activities, challenging the status quo, encouraging process change and executing on opportunities for greater efficiency Apply in depth understanding of the drivers of the business to ensure accurate development of financial plans, budgets, forecasts, and scenario analysis You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Demonstrated experience as a Finance Business Partner within a similar role Advanced understanding of financial accounting (cost allocation, operating/capital expenditure, revenue recognition, project accounting) and financial management principles (including planning, budgeting and forecasting) Strong business acumen with a proven track record of understanding business drivers and operations for the relevant area of responsibility Excellent communication skills to engage with key stakeholders and develop strong relationships across all levels of business Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior management in order to achieve business and financial outcomes Ability to analyse and interpret financial information to provide insightful and valued financial reporting and analysis to business stakeholders Advanced Excel and modelling skills, SAP experience Highly proficient with financial systems and always looking for ways to automate and gain efficiencies by maximising system capabilities Professional body membership: CA/CPA A real place to belong.
