About the roleDo you have a wealth of experience in commercial finance, with exposure to retail or supply chain operations, looking to take on your next opportunity?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Planning and Performance team.
Collaborating with other Finance Business Partners and reporting to our Finance Manager, you will be focused on supporting our Commercial teams including Geeks2U, building relationships with key senior stakeholders, and partnering closely across the financial planning cycle.
You will be involved in budgeting and forecasting, reporting and providing commercial analysis and insights.
Evaluating financial performance, identifying trends, opportunities, and challenges, you will present findings to key stakeholders to aid effective decision making in line with our Officeworks' strategic plan.
You are driven by a culture of continuous improvement, striving to deliver best practice financial modelling, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
You are inquisitive, bold and always looking at ways to improve efficiency and effectiveness of reporting and processes.
We offer great flexibility with 2-3 days per week working in our Chadstone Office with the remainder of your week working from home.
As our Finance Business Partner, you will: Prepare annual, monthly and recurring forecasts and budgets with analysis and reporting on capital expenditure spend ensuring investments are prioritised to align with strategic goals for your business unit (Store Ops).Analyse business' financial performance and produce insightful commercial insights for all reporting for our OLT (Officeworks Leadership team) and Wesfarmers.Work with business stakeholders, seeking to understand, educate and provide commercial analysis and insights to support decision making.Provide advice and guidance on meeting financial plans and the associated challenges.Proactively identify commercial risks & opportunities and co-create action plans to remediate risks / maximise opportunities.Support the development of all commercial assumptions informing key investment decisions and ensure the approved outcomes are appropriately reflected in forward financial plans (Budgets/Forecasts).About youYou have strong commercial acumen with the ability to not only provide reporting but tell the story, understanding the why, challenge our thinking and provide insights to aid effective business decisions.
Your strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence coupled with your knowledge of technical accounting standards and principles will see you excel in this role.
In addition, you will have:
Minimum 4+ years' experience in Commercial Finance roles with a CA/CPA qualification with a background in the retail industry or supply chain preferred.Demonstrated experience with budgeting and forecasting processes, capital investment and/or corporate plan (financial modelling) activities.The ability to navigate ambiguous data/information in order to formulate hypotheses and deliver actionable insights.Strong critical thinking ability with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.Experience using SAP and Power BI platforms with advanced Excel skills (including building operational and financial models).Our cultureIt's all in a day's work when you're part of the Officeworks community – where you're not defined by who you are, but what you can do.
