Salary:UOM 8 – $119,742 - $129,607 p.a. plus 17% super

Lead and manage grants and contracts for the Centre Youth Mental Health (CYMH), partnering with stakeholders to oversee project costing, forecasting, and budgeting.Provide strategic financial insights to support business growth and decision-making, enhancing the financial performance of CYMH at both the University of Melbourne and Orygen.Salary packaging, subsidised health and wellbeing services, fitness and cultural clubs, Myki discounts, and a 25% discount on graduate courses to our staff and their immediate families!About the RoleThe Finance Business Partner (FBP) for the Centre for Youth Mental Health (CYMH) will manage grants and contracts across the University of Melbourne (UoM) and Orygen, overseeing project costing, forecasting, and budgeting. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role provides strategic financial insights to guide decision-making, support business growth, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, while fostering strong stakeholder relationships and streamlining financial processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Ensure compliance for the organisation across Orygen and the UOM-CYMH policy, process and systems.Work closely across all levels of management within designated groups to provide budget/forecast development & tracking, management reporting & analysis, and commercial financial advice.Ensuring the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC) is maximised when providing advice including ability to fulfil HERDC validation requirements.Assist the Head of FPA with consolidating research function financials across CYMH and Orygen.Who We Are Looking For
We're looking for people whopossess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a proactive and collaborative approach, and high-level organisational and coordination skills. They will demonstrate strong attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability to changing priorities, with the ability to manage complex workflows and convey financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
You will also have:
Relevant tertiary degree in accounting/finance with CA/CPA qualificationsExperience managing grants and contracts in Not for Profit, Clinical and/or Higher Education settings.Extensive experience using analytical tools including Microsoft Excel, data warehouses, Power BI or similar.Experience in forecasting, budget preparation, reporting and analysis of actual expenditure.For further information regarding responsibilities and requirements, please refer to the attached PD.
This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University. In the case the selected candidate doesn't have a valid Working with Children Check, they will be able to apply for the WWCC as part of the initial onboarding procedures.
