The opportunity We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic senior accounting professional who is ready to step into a senior leadership role as the head of the finance and commercial department. Reporting to the Managing Director – Operations, the Finance and Commercial Manager plays a critical role in enabling the Senior Leadership Team and the Board to achieve their business strategy and implement best practices in financial and commercial management.

You are a proven professional with experience in the following areas:
Managing a team of accounting and finance professionals to enable effective service delivery to operations. Coaching and development of the finance team and the broader leadership team to build awareness of effective financial and commercial management. Acting as a finance business partner to provide specialist analysis and recommendations to achieve the strategic growth plans for the business. Strong operational and strategic planning competencies to manage the delivery of accounting, payroll, reporting, and taxation services for the organisation. Developing and implementing a systematic approach to commercial management and leading the contract management activities for key suppliers, contractors, and vendors. Developing and implementing methodologies to manage commercial aspects of M&A activities for the company. Developing financial models to enable the creation of business cases for key operational or organisational changes and advising the Senior Leadership Team and the Board on the impact of proposed changes. You will bring the following to the role: 8 plus years in accounting and finance, preferably in the professional services sector. Professional qualifications (CA/CPA) or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification in finance and accounting. Sound knowledge, skills, and competence in financial management, planning, and analysis in a national operating environment. Sound knowledge, skills, and competence in commercial management of contracts, clients, and suppliers. Strong leadership and coaching capabilities to develop and lead the team and influence a diverse workforce. Effective interpersonal skills to build relationships across the organisation and with clients, service delivery partners, vendors, and contractors. High level of attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on the tasks at hand. Highly organised, able to prioritise a diverse workload, and great at planning work activities.
