The Finance Analyst plays a pivotal role for providing financial and commercial advice and support to the relevant business unit, including accountability for financial results, forecasting and budgeting. The role collaborates with teams to support strategic initiatives, provide transparent and accurate financial reporting and analysis, and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.
This role is ideal for a driven professional who will play a pivotal role in shaping strategic business outcomes through comprehensive financial modelling and in-depth analysis. Your insights will be central to key decision-making processes, empowering data-driven strategies that propel our business forward. We seek someone with strong stakeholder management skills across various organizational levels, a passion for delivering results, and a flexible, 'can-do' mindset.
With a Hybrid split (Office/WFH), this role is based in Southbank and is part of the Finance, Strategy & Legal team. This role will deliver real outcomes, including but not limited to: Provide insights and detailed financial analysis of business unit actuals, forecasts and budgets each month to support understanding and decision making.Work with the relevant profit centre owners to develop accurate and timely financial plans, budgets and forecasts. Ensure forecasting processes are robust and meet senior management requirements.Support the Finance Business Partner in partnering with teams to provide robust and timely financial advice and guidance in accounting and financial matters.Provide detailed financial modelling and analysis to support key business decisions.Work with the relevant business stakeholders, support the identification and resolution of data integrity and process issues that have an impact on the financials.Identify and implement cost saving initiatives aligning with corporate and financial strategy.Identify and implement process improvement opportunities within Finance.Work with relevant business stakeholders to ensure that all financial and accounting policies and processes are adhered to.You don't need to check every box; however, we are looking for a good combination of: Recent degree or a postgraduate qualification recognised by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and/or CPA Australia.Strong understanding of financial management principles (including budgeting and forecasting).Knowledge of financial modelling and analysis practices including benefits, risks and resourcing.Ability to report and present financial data that is clear, concise and easily understood at all levels in the organisation.Ability to understand operating costs and capital expenditures and their key business drivers.Ability to analyse and interpret financial information in the context of supporting/recommending key business decisions.Ability to influence key business stakeholders in order to achieve desired outcomes.Strong experience with SAP and Advanced Excel and modelling skills.A real place to belong.
