Finance & Administration Officer The Finance & Administration Officer is responsible for efficiently managing financial systems, ensuring accurate payroll processing, administration and coordinating travel and accommodation. This role encompasses a variety of administrative duties, resource coordination for stakeholders, and the management of payroll systems, all aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across the organisation.
The Finance and Administration Officer will be employed by the Nawarddeken Academy and will be undertaking duties for both Nawarddeken Academy Limited (NAL) and the Homelands School Company (HSC).
The Nawarddeken Academy offers a unique model of bi-cultural, community-driven education in remote Indigenous communities. Our schools were established at the request of local Indigenous elders, who wanted desperately for their children to be able to access fulltime education in their home communities.
We operate three schools within the Warddeken IPA: Kabulwarnamyo, Manmoyi, and Mamadawerre.
This position is based in our Darwin office. Key responsibilities include: Finance NAL & HSC Accurately prepare and process fortnightly payroll using MYOB, including payroll reports and reconciliations.Monitor staff leave entitlements and assist with annual pay increases and related documentation.Process payments and financial transactions, including expense reports and reimbursements. Ensure accurate GST coding and maintain records of accounts payable transactions.Receive, review, and process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, mitigating discrepancies effectively.Conduct monthly reconciliations for the company debit card and maintain electronic filing systems.Reconcile salary packaging and payroll accounts.Assist with monthly superannuation and IAS submissions, end-of-month BAS checks, audits, and other finance-related duties as necessary.Administration HSC Support the CEO, in managing operational activities.Arrange travel and accommodation bookings for CEO, Board members and visitors.Support CEO with meetings by booking venues, coordinating board members and organise catering.Other related duties as directed from time to time.Address and solve day-to-day operational issues while striving to meet both short- and long-term performance goals.Essential Criteria Must have Australian residency and reside in AustraliaProficient in Microsoft OfficeProficient experience in using ExcelExperienced in using MYOBExperienced in End-to-End payrollAttention to detailAbility to obtain a Working With Children Card For further information please contact Karen Kehoe – [email protected]. ******** .
