Job Description An exciting new opportunity has arisen within our Financial Services section for a Finance Accounting Lead, based at our central headquarters in Sheffield.
Finance Accounting Lead Contract: Permanent
Salary: Grade 8 (£37,336 - £40,221) (pay award pending)
Hours: Full Time - 37 Hours per week (Flexi Time)
Work Pattern: Mon - Fri
Location: Central Headquarters, Eyre Street, Sheffield/Agile
The overall purpose of the role is to support the team in proactively contributing towards the efficient and effective delivery of South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue's strategic objectives and priorities. The main element of the role is to be responsible for the preparation of the draft statutory accounts, fixed asset accounting and treasury management in compliance with relevant codes of practice.
To be considered for this role you will have previous experience of working in a finance environment both financial management and accounting and have knowledge of public sector accounting.
You must be able to self-motivate, plan, prioritise and demonstrate continuous professional knowledge as well as being either qualified at CCAB or a CCAB finalist.

New starters will commence on the bottom of the salary grade and will receive increases to the top of the grade on an incremental basis. We offer 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. We also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.
