About your new role:
Due to continued growth within our business, we are seeking an experienced workshop based Fitter / Machinist to join our high performing team in PortHedland, Western Australia.
Within this role, your responsibilities will include: Performing allocated work to the required standards within agreed timeframes;Reading and interpreting job specifications, technical drawings and schematics;Operating heavy machinery, hand tools and lifting equipment etc;Making sketches or manufacturing parts to drawings;Maintaining equipment, tools and work area to a high standard;Maintaining documentation and service records as per procedure;Directing and mentoring apprentices where required;General mechanical fitting work as required; andPerforming work safely and comply with WHS procedures.Repairs and reconditioning of hydraulic cylinders used in a variety of applications;Disassembly, inspection, measuring and reporting on components;Assembly and testing of cylinders;
Maintaining documentation and service records as per procedureWhat you need to succeed:Relevant Trade Qualifications: Machinist or First-Class Machinist;Experience working within a workshop environment and knowledge of machining procedures;Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings;Experience operating manual lathe and milling machines;Work to fine tolerances with speed, accuracy and attention to detail;Proficient with Internal and external screw cutting, boring and grooving;Experience in machining a broad range of materials;Forklift ticket and MIG welding experience (desirable);Effective communication, time management and organisational skills; andValid driver's licence, own transport and a demonstrated safety first mindset.If you are a reliable, results-oriented person and looking for a challenging position in a dynamic market, then we would love to hear from you.
