About The Team The Veterinary Public Health team at the School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) plays a vital role in preparing veterinary students to safeguard the health of animals, humans, and the environment. A core component of their practical activities involves field trips to food[1]producing establishments, such as abattoirs, where students are taught food hygiene principles and observe animal welfare standards in practice. The field trip driver will assist with transporting students to these locations and facilitating these essential learning experiences. The team's objectives therefore include delivering high-quality education, maintaining SVM's accreditation, and ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to address real-world challenges in veterinary public health. Through this, they contribute significantly to the development of veterinary professionals who will promote public health and sustainable practices across various sectors.
Your New Role! The key purpose of this role is to safely drive veterinary students to field trips (Perth and southern WA region) in a vehicle from MU this may include a 12-seater minibus.
Availability is required for weeks commencing -20/01, -10/02, -24/02, -10/03, -24/03, -21/04, -05/05, -26/05
Your Key responsibilities will include –
Driving lecturer and students to field trips around Perth metro and southern WA areas safely and efficiently.Park vehicle in a safe area and drive lecturer and students back to the University upon the end of each field visit.Maintain a high level of concentration while driving.Complying with government regulations on passenger and goods transport.Ensuring the safety of passengers and goods.Following the designated route and meeting delivery deadlines.This casual role attracts a competitive casual rate of $37.05 p/hr – $38.16 p/hr inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 11.5% employer superannuation contributions.
