We are hiring at H&L for a Field Technician – POS Systems to join our growing team in Australia!
The successful Field Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting H&L's POS and payment solutions for our clients. This role is customer-facing, requiring effective communication skills and a strong technical background to resolve complex issues efficiently while delivering a positive customer experience. The Field Technician will work closely with the technical support and operations teams, providing valuable on-site insights to improve products and services.

What your day will look like:
Installation and Configuration:

Install and configure H&L POS systems, payment terminals, and peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.) at client sites.
Set up and configure network connections for POS systems, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform regular maintenance on POS hardware and software to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot issues on-site or remotely, including hardware malfunctions, software bugs, and connectivity issues.
Replace or repair faulty components as necessary, including PIN pads, scanners, and other POS peripherals.

Client Support and Training:

Provide on-site support and training to clients, ensuring they understand how to use the system effectively.
Assist clients with issues related to transaction processing, data management, and reporting.
Deliver exceptional customer service to resolve issues efficiently and professionally.

Documentation and Reporting:

Document installation, maintenance, and repair activities in our ticketing system (e.g., Freshdesk).
Keep accurate records of customer interactions, issues, and resolutions for ongoing service improvement.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with the technical support team to escalate unresolved issues and ensure timely resolution.
Work with the operations team to align on product updates, replacements, and system upgrades.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

Test POS and payment systems to confirm all functionalities are working as expected before leaving the client site.
Ensure that all installations meet H&L's quality standards and are configured according to customer specifications.

About You:

At least a Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Electronics, or a similar related field.
At least 2 years of experience as a field technician, with a focus on POS systems, payment solutions, or IT support.
Proficiency in troubleshooting POS systems, network connectivity, and hardware components.
Familiarity with software applications related to POS, databases, and networking.
Basic understanding of SQL and system administration preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client interaction.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
Ability to lift and move POS equipment and peripherals safely.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
Legally authorised to work in Australia.
