Responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of operational field crews in conducting planned and unplanned network activities to ensure all assigned field-based work is completed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.This role is based in our Albany depot.Your Role in ActionEnsure field crews are trained and in compliance with safety guidelines, inspecting work progress and meeting with appropriate stakeholders to discuss assigned work progress.Arrange site inductions for crews and contractors.Maintain awareness of staff competencies through network compliance.Inspect and conduct safety audits of sites, hardware, vehicles, and equipment.Have an intimate knowledge of how operational field-based work is performed similar to that of field crews, particularly in complex and time-sensitive work activities or where operational needs require it.Responsible for hiring, assigning, and monitoring workload; determining work priorities; training; and performance management.Review and sign off for all time sheets, including approving overtime hours to be worked and validating hours registered on the time sheet.What Makes You a Great FitRelevant and current trade-based qualification in a discipline such as Electrical Fitter / Mechanic Certificate 3, Trade Certificate or Distribution / Transmission Overhead or Certificate 3 Distribution Cable Jointer or equivalent.At least 10 to 12 years of demonstrated, extensive and broad technical experience in networks or transmission/distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency.Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills.Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans.A sound knowledge of networks construction maintenance and operations field practices.Advanced written, verbal, and report writing skills.Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution, and managing public and stakeholder relations.Valid WA Driver's License Class 'C' or 'C-A'.By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future.
