The Field Service Technician will have a 'can do' attitude and is ready to take on their next big challenge contributing to the building and maintenance of large-scale Energy storage systems and performs hands-on technical commissioning and maintenance support. These tasks will include annual maintenance activities, troubleshooting, service and repair.
Responsibilities: Delivery of preventative and reactive maintenance in line with service obligations and product warranty, including schedulesOnsite troubleshooting and investigation of equipment failuresPrioritize and enforce safe work practices as described in the Energy Control Program, Maintenance Manual, and all Powin published and released documentationAttend daily toolbox meetings and sign off on Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) Work Orders (WO) and Lockout/Tagout checklistsAct as the Company's onsite, customer focused representative; adhere to customer's site-specific safety programs, onsite communication protocol and site-specific playbookProvide regular reports for field operations workAccurate and daily service database entry and coding for all service activitiesSpecial reporting for any significant field level discovery that justifies the creation of Field Reports to provide further details to the issues discoveredAdhere to all published and release Powin documentation when performing preventive and corrective maintenanceEnsure Powin quality standards are metAssist with spare parts inventory management & logistics when requiredPerform other duties as assignedQualifications: Certified A grade Electrical Worker or equivalent qualification in Australia or New Zealand5+ Years of demonstrated Field Service experienceProficient in the use of electrical test equipment such as Digital Multimeters, Meggers, and multi-process calibration equipmentWorking knowledge of and experience operating under AS/NZS standardsAbility to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings and specificationsStrong computer skills and experience with MS Office software (including Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Power Point, Teams), Slack and other collaboration applicationsAgility with learning new softwareDemonstrated ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with customers, project team members, contractors, and subcontractorsExcellent verbal and written communication, time management and organizational skillsWind turbine, solar, or battery storage service operations experience preferredFire Detection System and/or HVAC experience is an advantageKnowledge and experience with SCADA protocols (i.e. DNP3 and Modbus)Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, SEL PLCs, Relays and meters, SCADA, Ethernet switches, media converters (fiber and serial) and digital Input/output devicesTravel to customer locations is requiredAbility to travel often, occasionally on short noticeDemonstrated experience in customer-focused problem solvingOn call periodic technical supportExcellent communication and documentation skillsPowin is not accepting resumes from unsolicited headhunters or agencies at this time.
