About the program: AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.

Your responsibilities will include: The Field Service Representative (FSR) is responsible for duties including maintenance, integration, repair activities, fault diagnostics and testing, technical mentoring of CoA technical staff and helpdesk responses to CoA Operational Unit staff. Travel locally and interstate may be required to provide contracted levels of technical support to our customer at their home bases and when equipment is deployed to sustain Australia's Joint Air Battle Management System (JABMS) capability.

Perform a variety of technical activities including designated routine maintenance, testing, upgrades, of technical systems in accordance with policy and processes authorised in technical manuals and associated documents and information. Perform, with supervision, technical maintenance/repair activities associated with communications equipment, computer systems, digital processing equipment, and control equipment, including diagnosis of system faults. Perform, with supervision, On-System maintenance of equipment under LMA maintenance Control and to ensure Project timelines are met. Perform, with supervision, On-Site Support maintenance and repairs at deployed locations within Australia to ensure Weapon System availability targets are achieved including accurate and timely entry of data into the Maintenance Management System (MMS). Operate, Handle and Store, COMSEC CCI and keymat appropriately as required to support operations. Comply with security classifications and procedures in handling any system information or status data. Contribute to Modification Order integration activities in accordance with defined integration processes. Perform as required with Deeper Level maintenance logistics support to Investigate, rectify, repair, resolve, test Repairable Items (RIs) to ensure repair Turn Around Time (TAT) are as short as possible. Communicate any identified maintenance issues or requirements to the Deployable Systems Maintenance Lead for resolution. Research and respond to Helpdesk requests from the CoA for technical information & systems data to assist in diagnosing fault occurrence and improve radar performance. Use test equipment to carry out diagnostic performance analysis of Joint Tactical Operations Centre (JTOC) systems including Communications, Radar Systems, Elements, Repairable Items, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), and other ancillary equipment. Implement appropriate tool control and Foreign Object Control checks when undertaking all maintenance activities. Maintain current core technician skills and work to develop new skills that will aid the delivery of maintenance support to the CoA. Support other LMA contracts requiring Field Service Representative skills as requested. About you: Certificate III or above in Communications or Electronics discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience. Substantial experience working within an ICT network environment, understanding the needs for configuration and management of network Servers, Routers & Switches. Strong technical documentation skills. Strong understanding of Configuration Management, Quality Assurance, ICT, Security and Engineering. Strong ability to perform routine maintenance applicable to Network Servers, Routers, Switches, High power RF transmitters, Receivers, Transponders, Antennas, interface equipment and associated control and ancillary systems, in a competent, safe and timely manner, in-line with relevant procedures and processes. Maintenance of digital and analogue process control systems. Experience in maintaining Radar and/or communications equipment - Desirable. ICT experience on large defence programs - Desirable. Previous experience in handling COMSEC - Desirable. Previous experience in MMS operation - Desirable. Well-developed experience in deploying technical equipment in remote locations - Desirable. Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
