Introduction We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Service Operations Support team. You will focus on the Metso Automation equipment and will be responsible for field service support relating to machines, spares and wears. You will provide customers with technical services in conjunction with sales.
This role will allow opportunities to gain experience and training on other Metso products and services.
The position is located in Brisbane, QLD, and will service this region. Some interstate and possible international travel may be required. You will report to the Senior Service Manager.
Team you belong to You will join a team who provides support for machines, spares and wears. We work closely with our internal stakeholders, such as the Sales Area Managers, workshop team and technical support. Our team culture is positive and we work well together as a team.
What you'll do Provide hands-on service work on Metso Mineral Processing Analytical Equipment in the field at various customer sites.Provide technical liaison services between customers, product divisions and sales personnel.Perform technical evaluations and analyse equipment and machine component failures.Supervise and oversee projects on customer sites.Complete field machine inspections per global and customer procedures.Escalate questions and analysis to Technical Support and Engineering.Prepare post site visit reports, time sheets and expenses after site visits.Support warranty process and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) where applicable.Promote Technical Support value add and support Technical Support Teams.Identify equipment in the field at the customer site that is not in our installed base, trigger basic data input.Some interstate and some international travel may apply. Compliance to safety within our company and on customer site is imperative.
Who you are Hold an Electrical/Instrumentation trade qualification.Programmable Logic Controller & Distributed Control Systems experience advantageous.High-level fault-finding aptitude.Intermediate computer literacy in MS Office – Word and Excel.Holds a current motor vehicle license – must have.Must be physically fit and able to pass random medical and drug tests.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.Clearly understand and competency in Risk management and safety rule compliance.Full OEM training on Metso Analytical Equipment provided.Ability to travel with short notice.Metso is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse workforce culture.
