Field Research Officer - Its - Qld - Cairns

Details of the offer

Ongoing project work on offer!
Roy Morgan is seeking self-motivated and enthusiastic people to conduct face-to-face interviews on an important ongoing Australian Government sponsored tourism research project at Australia's international airports.
• Work for Australia's most trusted and well-known Market Research company • Highly competitive salary – base rate of $34.19 p/h and travel expenses • Exciting ongoing opportunity, starting in November 2024 with options for short-term contracts and ongoing casual work (option to start work now on other key projects also available) Among our many important and long running research projects, Roy Morgan is very proud to announce we have secured the running of a prestigious face to face study: the International Tourism Statistics study funded by the Federal Government's Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) .
This is a significant project for both the Australian Government and Roy Morgan, and this is your chance to be part of the action.
The International Tourism Statistics (ITS) survey captures travel by international visitors across Australia.
We'll capture survey data by asking respondents a series of questions about their trip to Australia.
This data feeds into the Australian National Accounts and contributes to the estimates of the national economy and helps drive the future of Australia's tourism industry.
As a Field Research Officer, you will undertake professional and accurate data collection of the public with neutrality by asking questions and gathering respondent responses.
Of course, there is some administration as well to ensure all the records are accurate and up to date.
For this project, you will be based at Australian International Airports (either of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin, Cairns, Gold Coast).
You need to be comfortable engaging with people – both in helping them understand the importance and benefits of participating in the survey and asking scripted survey questions.
You will engage with people from all walks of life and be able to enjoy the flexibility of working independently and managing your own workload.
At Roy Morgan there are plenty of opportunities to work on a range of projects.
If you are looking for a new opportunity now, you can join the team on other projects and ahead of the ITS project kick off in November 2024.
We are looking for people who are committed to at least 20 hours per week including weekdays and weekends following a set roster of shifts.
Full time work for professional field research officers is also available.
To be a successful Field Research Officer you will: • Enjoy engaging with, and able to relate to, people from diverse and different backgrounds and experiences • Have market research interviewing experience or equivalent interviewing/people engagement experience.
• Be professional, have a high level of integrity and possess mature social skills.
• Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week including weekdays and weekends.
• Hold a National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Have fluent English language proficiency (spoken and written English) • Have a legal right to work in Australia.
This is a fantastic opportunity suiting people who have research interviewing experience or similar skills in teaching, training, HR, performing arts, retail, call centres – in fact if you love talking to people, we'd love to talk to you.
If you're semi-retired or retired this is also a perfect job for you!
We provide extensive training and continuous support for all our field team members.
Successful applicants will have the potential to earn great rates: • $34.19 p/h, with the opportunity to earn a higher rate • $0.95 per kilometre for use of your own vehicle (where applicable) Roy Morgan values diversity and is committed to building an inclusive workplace culture that reflects our community.
We encourage diversity and recognise the enrichment diversity brings to our business and people - whether its diversity of skill, experience and/or background.
We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds and community groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
