Project Overview: Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Job Summary: As Field Engineer - Electrical, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.
Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities: Prepares construction drawings and sketches.Leads preparation of construction drawings and schedules and the design of temporary construction facilities and ensures preparation of "as built" drawings and other job plans.Prepare, review, and approve Electrical work packages.Implement Bechtel's SWPPs, project specifications and procedures, applicable codes, and drawings to ensure that construction installation requirements are met.Perform in progress and final quality and completeness inspections of Electrical and Instrumentation installation.Material ManagementInitiates requisitions for field purchases.Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.Reviews material receiving reports and performs material receiving inspections.QuantitiesVerifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.Reporting on daily and weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.Safety / Quality ControlEnsures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.Perform quality control inspections and manage associated Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.TechnicalProactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.Other responsibilities as designated.Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.Oil & Gas or LNG Project construction experience assigned as Electrical Field Engineer.Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.Required Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, TEAMWorks, Aconex, DSCS, and Unifier.Understanding of Electrical Equipment Hazardous Areas (EEHA) and related Australian Standards.Excellent problem-solving ability.Additional Information: This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
