We currently have a great opportunity to join the Upper Northern Hardwoods team as a Field Ecologist on a 2-year max term contract.

The Field Ecologist is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of accurate ecology surveys in the upper north coast of NSW and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role is also required to manage survey data and related systems and produce reports as required to support operational plans.
We would love you to have:
Sound knowledge of forest flora, fauna and habitat (particularly threatened species and communities) relevant to forests of eastern Australia. Appropriate/relevant tertiary qualifications, experience and/or training. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in flora and fauna survey techniques and habitat assessments, and use/maintenance of a variety of survey and related equipment. Knowledge of forest management, including silviculture, fire management and harvesting. Well-developed interpersonal, report writing and communication skills. Proven organisational skills - ability to plan and prioritise work, meet standards and deadlines. Knowledge and understanding of field ecology. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in flora and fauna monitoring techniques and habitat assessments, and use/maintenance of a variety of survey and related equipment.
