Raw Procurement comprises farming and harvesting operations to support our annual sourcing of 450,000 tonnes of potatoes and vegetables in addition to leading innovative R&D activities throughout Australia and beyond.
Reporting to the Sweet Corn Specialist and commencing early Feb 2025, in this permanent position - the Field Assistant will work closely with internal and external (crop growers) stakeholders to align with annual crop planting and harvesting plans relative to our sweet corn and brassica (e.g.
broccoli / cauliflower) raw materials, whilst building on existing grower relationships.
In this varied role, the successful candidate will undertake weekly travel (by road - tools of the trade vehicle provided) to our growing areas within the Orana region (Dubbo / Narromine) and to the Forbes / Cowra areas, with monthly travel to our growing areas within QLD.
What You Will DoWork closely with the Sweet Corn Specialist in the management of contract growing operationsAct as a first point of contact between Simplot and contract growersAssist with development of the annual planting schedule in close conjunction with contract growersAssist with development of the annual harvest plan to align with manufacturing activitiesProvide best practice advice to growers on cropping solutionsUndertake regular visits to growing operations & manufacturing facilityProvide regular communications / reporting to the wider Raw Procurement team with cropping dataContribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) activitiesAssist with general farm duties (e.g.
